Semi-friable fused alumina is a new type of top grade fused alumina in China whichcombines the merits of brown and white fused alumina, i.e. the toughness of brownfused alumina and the sharpness of white fussed alumina. With the unique grindingand cutting effect, it can be used for manufacturing high grade ceramic, resin grindingtools and coated abrasive tools. The bonded abrasive product manufactured with itprovides a higher durability, good sharpness and retentiveness. While processing somework pieces under the same conditions, it demonstrates better surface quality, higherprocessing efficiency and better durability of grinding tool than brown, white, chromeand monocrystalline fused alumina. Compared with brown fused alumina grinding wheel.after each trimming of grinding tool, the number of work pieces it processes can bedoubled. And compared with white fused alumina and monocrystalline fused alumina.it can increase by 10% to 30% or reach the same use effect. Used for rough grinding, itcan improve the processing efficiency and used for accurate grinding it can improve thesurface quality of work piece. lt is applicable to regular steels, bearing steels, stainlesssteels and tool steels for industrial use, especially stainless steels and work pieces whichis easily deformed or burned from overheat. lt can also be used to process special alloysteel with low content of chrome, vanadium, molybdenum, tungsten, cobalt, some castiron, all kinds of nonferrous metals, such as aluminum alloy which contains copper, nickeland magnesium, copper which contains sulfur and zinc, magnesium alloy which containaluminum and zinc, etc.
